1 out of every 3 children in Maryland is overweight, which is linked to risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as high cholesterol or high blood pressure. We know that healthy kids become healthy adults.
As parents, we want to ensure our kids live their healthiest life possible. The American Heart Association is committed to keeping our kids heart healthy too! The AHA works to improve the health of our children by advocating for smoke free air policies, increasing access to healthier foods in school lunches, improving the quality and quantity of physical education, providing CPR education for kids and funding research for congenital heart defects.
This year, we are honored to be chairing the 24th annual Howard County Heart Ball. This role provides us an opportunity to double down on our support of the American Heart Association and make an impact in the health for the next generation of Howard County and Maryland children.
Please join us in making an Open Your Heart donation to help us reach our $450,000 fundraising goal.
Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
