Greater Baltimore Go Red for Women Lesia Bell
Volunteer of the Year Award
Description of Award:
Lesia Bell wore many hats as a volunteer for the American Heart Association – from modeling in our annual Go Red Fashion Show, to working a tent at the Heart Walk to calling donors to thank them for their gifts. Her passion for the American Heart Association and her love of life were insatiable. She is the type of person who leaves an imprint on your heart forever. In 2014, Lesia was faced with a very difficult fight. After years of battling heart disease, she was diagnosed with cancer – and after a short fight, with her body and immune system weakened – she passed away in January of 2014.
The American Heart Association, along with InSource Solutions, are honored to offer the opportunity to recognize a volunteer who represents the spirit of volunteering for the AHA in honor of Lesia Bell and the giving life that she lived.
